7 Blog Ad Networks Worth Checking Out
Once you’ve built up a nice readership for your blog, and you are beginning to see a steady stream of search engine traffic; one of the most important considerations is how you will monetize your blog. The good news is that there are a wide variety of blog ad networks to choose from. Let’s take a look at some of the best.
1. BuySellAds
BuySellAds is a great choice if you haven’t been successful with pay-per-click ad models like Adsense. When you sign up with BuySellAds, you’ll enter your blog information and wait for approval. BuySellAds will automatically retrieve your Alexa Rank, Google Page Rank, and other statistics to display to advertisers. Then you’ll name your price per month to display a banner ad on your site. Advertisers will be able to easily check out your website and decide if they would like to buy a banner ad. BuySellAds takes a 25% commission of the total ad cost.
2. Technorati Media
Technorati Media is the largest social media advertising network and the 3rd largest blog media property. Technorati has long been one of the top destinations for Internet users wishing to find the best and most relevant blogs on a wide variety of subjects. When you join their ad network, they’ll find the highest paying ads for your blog based on your content via a CPM (cost per 1000 views) model.
3. BlogAds
BlogAds is a relatively small network, but they represent some of the biggest names in blogging, like Perez Hilton. One of the biggest advantages to BlogAds is the amount of customization. You can specify the size of the ad you want, and you can even adjust the colors of the ads to match your site. The ads you sell will be based on a monthly fixed charge – not on impressions or clicks. You can reject any ad you wish, and BlogAds takes a 30% commission.
4. Sponsored Tweets
If you are already supplementing your blogging efforts with Twitter, then this can be a great way to get a few extra dollars. All you need to do is register your Twitter account with Sponsored Tweets and set your prices to begin receiving offers. You can charge both on a tweet-by-tweet basis and also on a per-click basis. Kim Kardashian reportedly gets paid $10,000 per tweet, so there is definitely a market here if you have a sizable number of followers.
5. Google Adsense
You may have heard about the Google Adsense network, and you have no doubt seen Google Ads on other blogs. The best part about the Adsense program is its simplicity. It is easy to be accepted into the program, and Google will immediately begin showing ads to your visitors related to the content on your blog. Depending on how valuable your keywords are, you can earn several dollars per click.
6. Amazon Affiliate Program
Another hugely popular advertising network that is easy to join is the Amazon Affiliate program. You can select products to display on your blog, or you can let Amazon choose products automatically based on your content. Every time someone buys something from Amazon, you will receive a percentage of the sale price. The best part is that you can earn even on products you didn’t explicitly advertise. If you recommend a book, someone might go to Amazon and buy an expensive flat screen television.
7. Payperpost
Payperpost is an ad network that brings bloggers and advertisers together. Once you list your blog, your statistics, your price per word, and your price per link; you’ll be able to field offers from advertisers who would like you to write a blog post about their product or service.
Every blog is slightly different, and there is no one best way to monetize it. Your best bet may be to try several of the above networks to see which one has the greatest potential earning power for your blog. Stick with the one that works, and discard the rest.

How To Increase Blog Traffic By Using A Twitter Retweet Plugin
Are you using Twitter yet? If you’re not then you’re missing out on a very effective way to increase your blog traffic. I resisted for a long time thinking that Twitter was just another fad and time waster. Boy was I wrong – Twitter had 58.4 million global visitors in September (translates to 949 percent increase from a year ago) according to Comscore data. That’s tremendous growth I want to be a part of.
How will Twitter get you free traffic to your blog?, well it’s quite simple and yet I’ve noticed that many bloggers still don’t apply these simple tactics to get increased blog traffic.
- Sign up for a Twitter Account
- Download and install a Twitter Retweet Plugin
- Properly set up the Retweet Button settings.
That’s it, that’s all you need to do.
I prefer the Tweetmeme plugin but Big Tweet has a new one that looks just as good.
Here’s my video to show you how easy it is to do this:
Now when I visit your site and I find an interesting post I will be able to share it with my Twitter followers just by clicking on the retweet button, you’ll also automatically get a notification that I RT (retweeted) your post.
When my followers read it they may also retweet it to their followers and so on and so on….
Not to mention all your other blog visitors that will have easy access to share it with their followers.
The easier you can make it for your reader to share your content the more likely it is that they will. I know for a fact that if the retweet button is not there I will not spend the time to share it, however if I see the button and I think my followers will enjoy the post I’ll definitley hit the retweet button.
There are a number of Retweet Plugins available. Tweetmeme is one of the most popular ones and works very well.
You can check out some of the others here and choose the one that suits you best

If you don’t have a retweet button yet go ahead and follow my video instructions and start getting some free blog traffic.
If you like this post please feel free to retweet it. The button is at the top of the post.

7 Tips for Optimizing Your Video Content for the Search Engines
I’ve recently been doing some extensive research on how to create video content and finding the best ways to use video to gain targeted traffic. As a result I’ve learned how to make videos, upload them to YouTube and have also learned how to optimize those video posts for Search Engines.
I found that shortly after posting only two videos I saw a substantial increase in traffic to my site.
Here are the 2 videos tutorials I created:

How To Add an Exit Popup Optin Box To Your Blog Using Aweber
Video is an interactive and useful form of content for your website visitors. We each learn differently and adding this visual component holds a very strong appeal for many target audiences. Additionally, it’s also a way for you to brand your business and connect with your audience. Unfortunately, while a lot of website owners are good at creating useful video content, they forget to optimize this content for the search engines. This is a mistake as search engine spiders can index video content, if you know how to show them the way.
1) Video Tagging
Most video-sharing sites allow you to create “tags.” Tags are simply keywords that describe video contents. This tagging makes it easier for people to find your content and it makes your content easier for spiders to index. Make sure to use all the tags you can.
2) Video Titles
Give your video a title. Titles serve two purposes, like an attention grabbing headline they capture the attention of your prospect and when you use keywords, they can enhance your search engine rankings.
3) Categorize your videos
Video sharing sites typically require you to place your video in a specific category. The more specific you can categorize your video, the better.
4) Create a relevant file name.
If you are hosting a video on your own site, of course still take the time to title and tag your videos and take your SEO one-step further by creating a relevant file name for your video with keywords.
5) Only publish one video per web page.
Experts recommend only publishing one video per webpage with a simple text title and description. Optimize the page where you publish your video for both video search engines and content search engines by using tags for the content of the page.
6) Use keyword optimized anchor text if you link to the video from other pages of your Web site.
7) Consider Using YouTube Suggest to Generate Keywords
You should always do regular keyword research for content, however for video optimizing, many experts recommend also using YouTube’s Suggest tool. Because Google owns YouTube, it works much like the Google Suggest tool.
The YouTube blog describes it this way: “A query suggestions option is now available for search. To opt in, click the “advanced” link next to the search button, then choose “Display query suggestions as I type” from the search settings. As you type in your search terms a menu will appear with suggested results to choose from to help you more quickly find the videos you’re looking for. On the search results page you’ll also get an additional list of recommended searches by clicking on any of the terms listed next to the new “Also try” menu.
Video content is interactive content and so highly viewed by visitors. When it’s informative and entertaining it can be one of the most valuable forms of content on a website. Optimizing it for the search engines just makes sense. Utilize these seven steps to make sure your video content is indexed by the search engines.
