How To Add An Opt-In Box To Your Blog Using Aweber
In a previous post “5 Steps To Quickly Build Your Subscriber List“ I talked about how important a mailing list is to your online business. I outlined 5 steps to get started and one of them was to have an opt-in box on your blog or website.
One of my readers left a great comment on that post suggesting that it would be helpful to know how to actually add an opt-in box - here’s the comment:

Hi Luca,Great information for a beginner also for a runner. But you could have mentioned how to add an opt-in box also how to submit the article to the directories, it would have helped for a beginner. Any way all the best and have a nice day.

Thanks for your feedback Ravikumar. As a result of the comment I decided to do a video showing exactly how to add an opt-in box to a blog.
There are a number of ways to do this including using some commercial products and plugins but for this example I’m using my autoresponder “Aweber” account to create the Opt-in form for free.
I hope you enjoyed the video. Now that you’ve seen how easy it is to add an opt-in box using Aweber I hope you go ahead and start building your subscriber list from your own blog.
The only thing left for you to do now is tosubscribe to my newsletter and get my free 21 part List Building eCourse as well as updates to this blog and some great free bonuses.
As I say in my newsletter – I love feedback so please leave a comment with your thoughts or questions.

I’m on Typepad myself and adding a webform to that is as straight forward as you showed here for WP self-hosted blogs.

I’ve also – being a huge AWeber fan – found a way to help WP.com blog owners add a AWeber webform to their blog (that’s adding with a ‘twist’

Hi Karen,
You are so right, there are other blogging platforms that opt-in boxes can be applied to. My preference is self hosted Wordpress but I can see the benefit of the others. Thank you very much for sharing the resource on how to add the optin box with Wordpress.com

Thanks for the great post. The instructions were very clear. I am still struggling with videos so I am always impressed when I see a good one.
At the forum at my address we are running sections to bookmark others posts as well as to comment on blogs. We also have a section for giveaways and for AdSwaps. Definitely worth the price of joining since it is free.

Great video Luca and very informative.
While I already know how to add this to my site/blog, it is very easy for us to assume that everyone would know how, but that is far from the case.
You have taken something that would be very hard for some and broken it down into a very easy to understand and easily repeated process.
My hats off to you Luca!
Job well done!

Great video, Luca. It is the “little” things like this that can stall out one’s progress and build up frustration. We ALL didn’t know how to do this at some point in time, so remembering that and helping others to learn is a great service.

Hey Tony,
Thanks for the comment. The best way to deliver the gifts to your subscribers is to include a link to a download page on the first email sent out by your auto responder.
