How To Use PLR Content To Create Small Reports
In previous posts I discussed the many uses of PLR content and how it can benefit you in saving time and building relationships with your readers.
There’s one use of PLR content that is often overlooked. That is creating small reports on a specific topic by putting together a number of PLR Articles that talk about that subject.
By doing this you will be creating something unique and of more value to your readers, customer and prospects.
Most people that buy PLR Content will usually take it as is and use it on their blogs or websites and article directories. Some will take the time to rewrite the content a little, just enough to get past the article directories duplicate filters.
What you need to understand about PLR Content is that the same content is being sold to many people. Some PLR membership sites may limit the sale to as few as 50 members but the majority will be in the 100’s or even more.
There is little benefit in using PLR Content in that manner unless you are first to get it online or have a huge mailing list. Even then it will take away from your credibility as an authority in your niche because that same article will appear in the search engines multiple times. Also, using PLR in this way will only add little benefit to your readers..
Give your readers, customers and prospects something of value and that is unique to you.
This is where creating small reports from PLR Content comes in. This will work for any niche:
- choose you small report subject
- find related PLR articles and ebooks (always check the PLR license first for any restriction)
- assemble them in a suitable order
- add more relevant information and possibly some graphics such as screen captures
- create a PDF file – ready for distribution
- create a cover graphic to enhance the report. (not necessary but helpful)
Now you have a valuable, quality and most importantly unique product that you can sell, use to build your list or just plain give away to your subscribers.
Don’t overlook this powerful use of PLR Content

Using PLR to create small reports is a great idea and you have listed some good ways to get started. You have also hit on a very key concept – you need to put forth the effort to make the product that you create from the PLR uniquely yours.

I agree wholeheartedly. If you want people to follow you for the long haul, you need to provide them with more than pablum. Take the time and provide real value. And don’t forget you probably learn more in the process than any of your readers. By doing a good job first on one and then another report, you are actually becoming more and more of an expert in your own right.

That little extra work to make them that much more unique can make a big difference. There are usually about 50 copies of each PLR product out there unless you buy it just for yourself. Anything to help you stand out from the crowd is helpful.

Great information and good ideas on how to use PLR material to your advantage.
Although what you are describing does take a little bit of W O R K, in the long run that work will pay of in the form of added readers and making yourself known as an expert in whatever niche you are working in.
Keep up the good work

Hi Luca,
Good points you raise here – Ive found that doing a quick search of the first paragrapch of a PLR article often brings up about 10 results at least, so make sure you differentiate yourself from the rest – it is worth it! And rememeber – 99% of PLR material gathers digital dust on a hard drive somewhere, so even if you do minimal re-writing – you will be streets ahead of most people!
Thanks again Luca!

Great post Luca, nice resources.
As I’m a lousy writer I need to utilize PLR to get me going. And you some very good points here. I also likes Colin’s remark. It seems to me a good way, also I mix sometimes two articles into one.

Powerful post full of great suggestions, Luca! Suggest that people do the same when coming out with a product of their own – find a related PLR that includes giveaway rights, create a unique short report from the PLR as you’ve described above, then use it as a giveaway to lead people to your own product’s salespage both through the download page of the freebie and through a salespage in the back of the free report.

Great Post, believe it or not when I started using PLR articles, putting them into a report or newsletter was one of the ways I wanted to use them. Of course I never got around to actually learning how to set it all up. Thanks to your PLR resources I can finally get on with it. Thanks

Your website always has so much great content. How many people actually take old PLR articles and take the time to rewrite and submit them to article directories?
I want to have more time to do this. Keep writing because I get inspired by it.
