Powerstart 2010 – Starting an Online Business The Right Way

By Luca

Welcome back

Power Start 2010 – Starting an Online Business The Right Way

Starting an online business should be easy and fast right? At least that’s what you see promoted online.  Just do a search for “how to make money online” and you’ll be greeted with many offers claiming that you can make money online quickly with no money invested and get this “no experience required”.

There is no magic bullet.  Any business takes education, planning, hard work and perseverance. Internet Marketing is a business and needs to be treated as such but these offers are so enticing for new people wanting to start an online business that it’s very easy to jump right in.

It doesn’t take long though to realize that it’s not an overnight venture and many go to the next magic bullet or give up all together which is unfortunate because if done properly an online business can become very profitable.

Starting an online business is really not that difficult if you’re committed to learning about the business, creating a plan and taking action to implement your plan.  This does take some time so don’t quit your day job yet. When I say committed I mean setting aside a couple of hours a day with a detailed plan and focusing only on your plan – don’t get sidetracked with anymore “magic bullets”.  Realize that it will take time and effort on your part to reach success online.

So the question is where do you start? If I were to start all over again I would have done my research and found a good mentor and coaching program.

I can hear you now “but that costs money and there’s no guarantee of success”.

I thought the same thing and instead getting coaching I spent money on  ebooks and programs that promised I could make money online quickly.  Not only that but I wasted many months trying to learn the business on my own.  In the long run it ended up costing me much more in money and time.

As they say hindsight is 20/20.  If only I knew then what I know now.

So in my experience I was one of the people who persisted but almost gave up because I was getting overwhelmed with information (information overload) and was just jumping from one thing to another.

I was fortunate enough to find a mentor in Doug Champigny.  I met Doug first through his newsletters and then on Twitter of all places.  With his guidance, direction and friendship I began to learn what needed to be done and how to do it.  I became focused on growing my online business.

Doug Champigny is a very successful Internet Marketer and Speaker who enjoys helping people but most importantly is an excellent teacher.

I’m very excited that Doug has recently announced a new coaching program Power Start 2010.

It’s a 4 week intensive course that will challenge you every step of the way to get your online business up and running by the end of the 4 weeks.

Let’s be clear, this course is not for everyone.  Like I said earlier it takes total commitment on your part, you will need to follow instructions and do the “work” every week so you can be ready for the next week’s lesson.

If you are committed to start building a successful online business then I highly recommend Power Start 2010.

The program will be on Monday evenings starting on February 1st,

Here’s a short summary of what you can expect:

  • Live Teleseminar with follow up question period (Doug will stay on as long as there are question)
  • Recordings of the calls will be made available – if you can’t attend live
  • Step by step process map for each activity
  • Step by step videos for each activity (showing you HOW to not just What to do)

So if you’re serious about starting an online business the right way sign up today for the February 1st session.

Check out the no-hype sales page for more details and judge for yourself Power Start 2010

I’ve already signed up and hope to see you there – start your online business on the right foot.

Your right, having a mentor is the secret to success. It’s too easy otherwise to run in circles. I am looking forward to Doug’s course. The straight and narrow for me. Four weeks of focused determination will get me and anyone else who take the ride a lot further.

Two things stand out in your post:
1. It’s not easy – as you say, There is no magic bullet
2. You must be “committed to start building a successful online business”
And
3. Doug’s course is designed to be intensive and will likely test your comittment but at the end you will be in a position to have a system in place and know how to keep it going.

I know Doug will be putting together a top notch class and I will be looking forward to it. It will probably be a lot of work involved but the outcome is what you have to look for. I can not wait.

7

I wish I had taken a course long ago. I’m looking forward to Doug’s training too

8

Intense is good. It will keep me focused on the tasks that need to get done.

9

Hi Jim,
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Hope to see you back

10

Hey Andre,
I’ll see you there. I’ll be ready to work.

11

If I know Doug, this course WILL be intense, but it will be basic enough that even newbies will be able to follow along easily.

I am also looking forward to a refresher on the ‘how-to’s'…

Keep up the great work!

With the overwhelming amount of information on the web, it’s no wonder people are bogged down and don’t know where to start. When I first started my business last year, I didn’t know where to turn for advice, but I read every ebook and bought every program I could get my hands on which cost me hundreds of dollars. And your right Luca, they only tell you what to do. Most of these programs or ebooks never actually show you how to do it. Thats where a mentor, who will not only tell what to do, but can show you exactly how to do it, can be priceless!

Thanks Ron,
The step by step videos and process maps will be easy to follow but there will be work involved.

14

Hey Tony,

As I said in the post – hindsight is 20/20 if only we knew then what we know now. I hope anyone getting started online takes time to find a coach or mentor early on. It will benefit them tremendously in the long run.

15

No doubt a great course. See you all there…

16

Hey Luca,

I have to say I was lost before I got a mentor, I didn’t know it at the time though and that was the problem, I was just doing the same thing over and over that never worked in the first place.

Since getting a mentor I have been creating a steadily growing income instead of just getting a sale now and again.

So I would say to all get your mentor now and save yourself a lot of time and stress.

All the best,

James

17

I’ll be there Fred

18

Hey James,
Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Well said James, getting a mentor early on will also eliminate the stress of learning on your own.

Great Post; honest and direct. I too am a big fan of Doug Champigny. I learned a lot from him.

I am a Stage 4 cancer survivor who suffered major complications as a result of my cancer treatments. Fortunately, my online income continued while I was in the hospital and in rehab. Much of what I know, I learned from Doug Champigny.

When I was finally declared “Cancer Free”, I celebrated by going to Ireland for a month. My online income continued while I was traveling throughout Ireland.

I totally agree; Someone wanting to start an online business should seek out a mentor. I totally endorse your recommendation of Doug Champigny’s, course.

Great post and comments here, Luca.
I believe 2010 might be the year I start over.
I made my first websites 10 years ago. They were Geocities sites that are now gone. I did not save them because I figured I would rather start over.

Since then I have focused more on blogging then on websites. I focused on MLMs to get added income and to build up a retirement fund. The MLM did not go how I wanted and last year was a disaster.
I saw a monthly income from it vanish. However the 6 years I spent learning MLM were very valuable and I have not totally given up on the process. MLMs are a great place to get free coaching. All you do is attend the trainings. Try to find the trainings that are more down to earth and hands on, and not pie in the sky bragging.

I believe in coaches, since I do some online coaching. However my life is on hold with my mother’s illness. Much of my spare time is focused on helping my parents. So I have not coached since December. My blogs and all have dropped visitors really fast. My mlm downline died last year.

My twitter account has lost about 500 followers but that is ok, I know I can get more followers.

It is amazing how life can change in one phone call. I have had lots of time to think, and I know I need to start over. I am at the point where there is nothing to lose again, and nothing to invest.

My plan is to keep writing. It is free to write. I will see where that takes me.

I bet Doug has a killer coaching program. Maybe one day I will join it, too.

Hey Roque,
Nice to see you here again. I’m sorry to hear that your Mom is having health issues. I read about it on your blog. I hope things get better soon.
I did not post much during the holidays and the blogs traffic really went down. Goes to show that consistancy is really important in blogging.

I’ve never tried MLM but I understand how it can be a learning tool as well. It’s all about continuous learning in this business as it’s ever changing. Good thing I enjoy learning new things.

23

Hi John and thanks for visiting. We have a great friend (Doug Champigny) in common. Thanks for the endorsment. I’m looking forward to his course.

Congratulations on being Cancer free. That is fantastic news. Look forward to seeing you back here again

24

Hello again Luca. It would be great to learn from Doug. I am going to see if there is any way I can join in on this.

Hi Luca,
I’d also spent time jumping from one thing to another & getting totally overwhelmed as well as spending too much.

A lot of the courses out there don’t give you the full picture and you can spend a lot of time and money trying to find the ‘magic bullet’. Although…the knowledge gained along this journey is never wasted as knowledge is power.

Finding a mentor and being committed to follow through on their teachings is so important. Last year I was one of the few selected to join the Apprentice 3 program by Howie Schwartz. An amazing experience and course which opened up a whole new way of thinking.

I also came across a comment you’d made about postcard marketing and I’m sure you’ll find it helpful. http://budurl.com/xleg

Hi Luca,

A power start to 2010 for me was a workshop in Las Vegas in January.

There’s no doubt that there’s a power in working together with others and learning from them hands on.

Having a good mentor certainly helps overcome overwhelm and points one in the right direction.

I heard a lot of good information about been ready to put the time and commitment into starting a business however one important ingredient that so many advertisers miss or purposely leave out is we have to have the money to be able to take on this venture and that is a big factor here.

29

Any online can be easy if you make it that and what I Mean is to get the roots planted first by learning the business you are getting into from the ground up and in my opinion you should not put a program on the internet until you accomplish this.

Hey Kenneth,

I hope you visit again

Education is a major factor for success in any business and an online business is no different. There are certain things that you can do though as you learn, for instance blogging can be started for free at places like Squidoo and HubPages before moving on to a hosted WordPress platfors. I do recommend getting your own domain though as soon as you can
