How to Get Small and Big Traffic with Article Marketing

For a beginning marketer, article marketing is a great way to make your first few hundred dollars. It’s easy and it’s fast to get started. Who should use article marketing,  how do you get started and how do you achieve an exceptional level of success with article marketing? Read on to find out.

Who Should Use Article Marketing?

Article marketing is great for beginning marketers who’ve struggled to get traffic to their website. It’s a simple, free and fast way to get visitors to a website without having to invest money before you’ve made money.

If you’re already making money from paid traffic sources, you may not want to use article marketing.  However if you have the money in your budget you can always outsource article marketing to get extra traffic.

What Can You Expect?

It’s difficult to predict the actual traffic you’ll get from each article but if you do your keyword research properly it can be in the range of 50 to 500 visitors over a couple of months. This traffic can easily translate into sales or subscibers.

Remember that Article traffic tends to trickle in rather than come all at once.If you go beyond submitting to just article directories, you could get a lot more traffic than that.

The Basic “How To” of Article Marketing

The first step is keyword research. Go on the Google Keyword Tool and find a list of keywords with at least 1,000 to 10,000 searches. Next go into Google and type your keywords in, in quotes. For example, “How to tile my roof” in quotes. Ideally there should be less than 10,000 competing results.

Compile a list of 10 keywords that match these criteria. You’re looking for keywords with moderate search volume and not too much competition.

Put this keyword in your title tag and use it sporadically throughout your article. You’re targeting the top 5 rankings for the specific keyword you’re targeting, plus any other keyword you happen to rank for.

Submitting Your Articles

Once you’ve written your keyword targeted article, the next step is to submit and distribute your articles.

The first step is to submit your articles to article directories like EzineArticles. This will start to get you traffic, however don’t stop there.  Once published at EzineArticles take the article and post it on your blog, and other social media site to get as much exposure as possible.

Now the extra benefit of article marketing is when other sites pick up your articles and publish them on their websites.  This will get you relevant one-way links and even more targeted traffic.

Article Marketing in Short

Select your keywords carefully. Choose keywords with moderate search volume and low competition. Submit your articles to article directories to get free targeted traffic. To get even more traffic contact other website owners to have your articles posted on their sites.

Discover The Answers To The Top 3 SEO Questions

Even if you know a fair amount about search engine optimization, or SEO, you may have questions. Because search engine optimization is an evolving technology, it pays to stay on top of the industry. Here are just a few of the most common SEO questions.

1. What are text links?

Text links are links that contain only text. The links are contained within a sentence and     when a reader clicks on them, they are taken to a different page on the same website.  Generally, the text included in the link is called anchor text and it’s a great way to optimize the keywords on your page and link to an external or internal webpage.

2. What are link farms and link exchanges?

They’re bad news. While links to your website are important for a good page ranking, search engine spiders don’t accept just any old link. The link has to be from a relevant and quality website.

A link farm is a Web page designed to profit from linking to web pages and Google and the other major search engines will penalize you for participating,

Link exchanging is essentially a link trade, “I’ll link to you if you link to me.” It’s okay to do this in small doses as long as the website you’re trading links with is relevant to your website. If your website sells dog-training products and you’re trading links with a furniture website then the search engines are going to discount the link.

3. What is latent semantic indexing?

When search engines find a keyword or keyword phrase on a webpage, they automatically search for other related words and phrases they would reasonably expect to see.  For example if you’re writing an article on snowboarding the spiders may also search for boarding, riding, skiing, freeride style and so on.

If the search engine spiders find these related words or phrases they have more confidence the primary keyword is being used in context, and therefore they will judge the page as more relevant.

LSI has been an active part of search engine ranking for a few years and as more and more content is published online, it’s becoming more important for webmasters to recognize it and make use of it when writing their content.

Search engine optimization is part science and part art.
The science comes from understanding the technology involved in meeting and understanding the search engine algorithms. The art, creating valuable content that includes your sometimes awkward keywords and keyword phrases. As your business grows and your web pages and content increase, you’ll want to stay on top of this ever changing practice.

7 Tips for Optimizing Your Video Content for the Search Engines

I’ve recently been doing some extensive research on how to create video content and finding the best ways to use video to gain targeted traffic. As a result I’ve learned how to make videos, upload them to YouTube and have also learned how to optimize those video posts for Search Engines.

I found that shortly after posting only two videos I saw a substantial increase in traffic to my site.

Here are the 2 videos tutorials I created:

How To Add An Inline Opt-In Box To Your Blog Using Aweber

How To Add an Exit Popup Optin Box To Your Blog Using Aweber

Video is an interactive and useful form of content for your website visitors. We each learn differently and adding this visual component holds a very strong appeal for many target audiences. Additionally, it’s also a way for you to brand your business and connect with your audience. Unfortunately, while a lot of website owners are good at creating useful video content, they forget to optimize this content for the search engines. This is a mistake as search engine spiders can index video content, if you know how to show them the way.

1) Video Tagging

Most video-sharing sites allow you to create “tags.” Tags are simply keywords that describe video contents. This tagging makes it easier for people to find your content and it makes your content easier for spiders to index. Make sure to use all the tags you can.

2) Video Titles

Give your video a title. Titles serve two purposes, like an attention grabbing headline they capture the attention of your prospect and when you use keywords, they can enhance your search engine rankings.

3) Categorize your videos

Video sharing sites typically require you to place your video in a specific category. The more specific you can categorize your video, the better.

4) Create a relevant file name.

If you are hosting a video on your own site, of course still take the time to title and tag your videos and take your SEO one-step further by creating a relevant file name for your video with keywords.

5) Only publish one video per web page.

Experts recommend only publishing one video per webpage with a simple text title and description. Optimize the page where you publish your video for both video search engines and content search engines by using tags for the content of the page.

6) Use keyword optimized anchor text if you link to the video from other pages of your Web site.

7) Consider Using YouTube Suggest to Generate Keywords

You should always do regular keyword research for content, however for video optimizing, many experts recommend also using YouTube’s Suggest tool. Because Google owns YouTube, it works much like the Google Suggest tool.

The YouTube blog describes it this way: “A query suggestions option is now available for search. To opt in, click the “advanced” link next to the search button, then choose “Display query suggestions as I type” from the search settings. As you type in your search terms a menu will appear with suggested results to choose from to help you more quickly find the videos you’re looking for. On the search results page you’ll also get an additional list of recommended searches by clicking on any of the terms listed next to the new “Also try” menu.

Video content is interactive content and so highly viewed by visitors. When it’s informative and entertaining it can be one of the most valuable forms of content on a website. Optimizing it for the search engines just makes sense. Utilize these seven steps to make sure your video content is indexed by the search engines.
